Papier Tigre Paris is more than a stationery shop since they create, design, manufacture, and distribute a gorgeous collection of paper products worldwide. These stationery products are innovative in style, and in a world of mass-produced products without any soul, they do things in a different way. A better way.
As a designer, I have a thing for notebooks and paper products since I enjoy sketching out ideas. I believe I found out about Papier Tigre in 2016 when they still had a shop in Berlin-Mitte. When I first saw the shop, I had to stop by and get something new. Eventually, the shop closed down in Berlin, but I still got some stuff from them online.
During our last trip to Paris in March 2022, I knew that the hotel I chose was close to Papier Tigre Paris, and it was the first place I visited in town. I won’t miss it!
Papier Tigre started initially as a website back in 2012. It became more than that once they opened the first store in Paris the following year. The entire project came from the heads of Maxime Brenon and Julien Crespel. They decided to make a winning bet of creating a paper-focused brand in the digital age. And they don’t work in it alone since they have a team of 12 people and one dog helping them out.
They release different beautiful collections from time to time. Each of these collections focuses on being more environmentally responsible and local than the previous one. This is one of the reasons they make most of the products you can see in the pictures here straight in their workshop in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. This is something that you don’t see every day.
There are many reasons you should visit Papier Tigre Paris. We hope you do it since they are one of our favorite European stationery shops. Their products are beautiful, their design is unique, and they are conscious about the environment in a way that more companies should be.
You can visit Papier Tigre Paris at Rue des Filles du Calvaire in Paris. It’s easier if you follow the map below.
And, if you are interested in stationery and paper shops, we have written about Papelote in Prague and Modulor here in Berlin. Both are also fantastic shops for those who love paper as much as I do.
