Analog Photography in Berlin

Tired of the digital monotony and seeking a more fulfilling photographic experience?

Late in 2023, I discovered a way to use 35mm film on a medium-format camera and was eager to try it out. I asked a friend to 3D print the pieces needed to hold the smaller film in place, and a month ago, I finally took my camera out to test this visual idea.

From Film to Zine

I began creating my analog photography zines when I recognized my desire to showcase my film photos beyond the digital space.

Today, in 2019, there are still plans to restore parts of it and even open a new pier in the original location. But all these plans were seen to be unrealistic by the West Pier Trust. But you can still go to the beach and sit between the last columns of the pier and watch the burnt down ruins of the West Pier in the distance. They don’t look that far, but, at the same time, they feel like they are a million miles away.

I have been in Berlin for more than 4 years by now and I have shown this city to a lot of people. These experiences made me realize that are places in Berlin that are advertised as really cool but that are just tourist traps. If you have been to Berlin a few times, I believe that you already picture some places inside your head. This article is focused on the worst places to visit in Berlin or how to ruin your Berlin experience in 5 places.

How to Ruin Your Berlin Experience

There are places that are advertised as cool but are tourist traps. This is about how those places can destroy your Berlin Experience.

This week of the #52weeksofburgers Fotostrasse ventures to Markethalle Neun in Kreuzberg to eat (almost) straight from the cow at Kumpel & Keule, a butcher shop dedicated to bringing back the art of butchery. There you will find beautifully dry-aged meat and homemade sausages, this sounds kind of pretentious and very hipster-like, but as we found out, they do it pretty fucking well.

Our Favorite Burgers in Kreuzberg

Since January 2019, we have been exploring burger places in and around Berlin. Some of them were great, some of them were mediocre, but this experienc…

On our my first time in Finland, I went to Porvoo ready to do anything. If the plan was take bikes into the wild, I had the equipment to do it. If the plan was to swim, I had everything ready to take pictures from the water. All this was possible because I brought my Sony Action camera with me. Too bad nobody knew this trip would be a painful journey for the camera.

This is why I really hate cyclists in Berlin. They go over red lights without even looking if there is a car coming or if there are people trying to cross the street. They cycle on the wrong side of the road, sometimes riding their bike straight into you. Some of them cycle next to you, trying to push you to go faster but not allowing you to go on your own rhythm. There are others that just block the entire bike lane while they talk to another person on a bike next to them. Why? If you want to talk to your friend, stop and talk. Don’t block the bike lane because you felt like sharing that gossip you heard somewhere.
