Three Country Border is know in German as Dreiländereck and, for my surprise, it isn’t in Aachen. The point where the countries meet is located in the dutch province of Limburg, in a small city called Vaals. This is why the hill you have to climb to enjoy this meetings of border is called Vaalserberg and it’s the highest point in mainland Netherlands. So, when you visit Dreiländereck, you are also visiting the highest dutch mountain.

My first time visiting a three-country border was when I visited Aachen, the westernmost city in Germany. It took me a few hours on a train to get there, but I didn’t care.

In episode 5, when Noah meets Michael, there is a church in the background. An interesting looking church that made us curious about it and we had to try to find out where is this church located.

The Åland Islands are a group of islands between Sweden and Finland. There is a bridge south of the Oberbaumbrucke that is not that famous but has one of the best views of Berlin and the Spree river. This bridge is called Elsebrucke, and you can find it in Treptow, close to the Molecule Man. From there you will have the best angle to capture the Oberbaumbrücke with Berlin Mitte in the background with the TV Tower and all the rest. It’s beautiful.

The Schlangenbader Strasse tunnel is an important

The Schlangenbader Strasse tunnel is an important feature of the Autobahnüberbauung Schlangenbader Straße housing complex in Berlin’s Wilmersdorf district. It showcases the urban planning efforts of the 1970s.

However, the tunnel’s future is uncertain. In April 2023, it was closed indefinitely due to serious fire protection deficiencies, including ventilation and emergency call system issues. This closure, prompted by a technical inspection and concerns from the Berlin Fire Department, has impacted the surrounding area.

I accidentally discovered this location in 2014 and admired its architecture. It took me 10 years to return, prompted by a friend’s photos of the closed tunnel and empty highway. I had read about it before but wasn’t sure of its accessibility.

The picture is from the area around the Schlangenbader Strasse tunnel, taken during my visit in late January 2025.

In episode 5 of the Netflix series Dark, Noah runs

In episode 5 of the Netflix series Dark, Noah runs into Michael, and there’s this cool church in the background. It caught our attention, so we looked up to see where it was.

Turns out it’s at the Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf. This cemetery used to be linked to Wannsee by a train called the Friedhofsbahn, but that line’s been abandoned for a while now.

The Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf cemetery chapel, designed by Gustav Werner, was built from 1908 to 1911. It features a unique Norwegian style with wooden decor, Art Nouveau glass windows, and an original organ by Wilhelm Sauer.

It looks fantastic through the Turquoise @lomography film.

Near this abandoned train bridge, commonly known as the "graffiti bridge," you will discover an oversupply of artwork created by Berlin-based artist Tobo. If you have wandered through the streets of Berlin and paid attention to the street art, you have likely encountered his work numerous times.

You have one mushroom @toboblack or a TOBO Pilz on the right side, and I don't think I've ever seen one before. It carries a message that many people still need to learn.

In January 2025, I loaded a Kodak Ektar 100 into a Mamiya RZ67 I bought a few months ago. I took it for a few walks around Berlin, like this one around Kleinmachnow, while trying to learn as much as possible about this beast of a camera.
