During the summer of 2026, I decided it was time to give a second chance to my rolls of expired Orwopan 100 that I bought on eBay a while back. My goal was to test out this vintage black-and-white emulsion with a lower ISO setting and see what kind of unique characteristics I could squeeze out of it.

There is a specific rhythm to exploring Berlin with a camera like the Mamiya C330. This isn’t like some of my other cameras. You don’t use it to snap pictures, as the kids say. To me, this is a camera for constructing pictures, if that is something that I can say.

Berlin holds a unique title: the city with the largest number of backyards in all of Germany. They call these backyards Hinterhöfe in German. For many visitors, these historic pockets of urban life remain undiscovered, tucked away behind grand facades and vibrant streets. To truly understand the capital’s soul, you must venture off the beaten track and explore the intricate network of what we call Berlin Hidden Backyards. And this is what I'm here to help you out with.

During a recent trip to this Dalmatian gem in the spring of 2025, I managed to capture its unforgettable beauty through the unique perspective of the LomoChrome Turquoise film. I have used this film before, and I loved the weird colors it captures. When the people from Lomography offered me one to test and review, I knew it would be incredible to take it to a new place like Supetar.

Berlin's Tempelhof Feld is unlike any other. This vast expanse, once a bustling airport central to the city's history, now serves as a massive public park—a unique blend of historical remnants and wide-open recreational space. In the summer of 2023, I joined a photo walk organized by the great folks at Safelight Berlin, armed with my trusty Canon F-1 and a very special roll of film: a heavily expired AGFA HDC 100.

The Vivitar Panorama is a 35mm film camera that became a cult favorite in the 1990s. Known for its unique faux panoramic mode and budget-friendly price, it's perfect for capturing wide-angle shots. In the summer of 2022, I stumbled upon a golden Vivitar Panorama on eBay Kleinanzeigen for less than €10. After reading about it in a few blogs, I knew I had to buy it.

In 2023, I got my hands on the Lomography LC-A+, a super cool analog camera. It's my first camera with control over exposure and ISO, so I knew I had to get out and use it! To kick things off, I loaded it with a Fuji Superia X-TRA 400 roll. This film is amazing for all situations because it's sharp, has super fine grain (meaning it looks smooth, not grainy), and can handle different lighting conditions.
