The Central Animal Laboratory of the Freie Universität is one of the best examples of Brutalist architecture in Berlin, and we visited the building at the end of December 2016 to see this strange looking building in the middle of Lichterfelde. It took us a while to find it, but once you see it, there is no way of ignoring it based on its monstrous appearance and the contrast with the area surrounding it.

There is a bridge south of the Oberbaumbrucke that is not that famous but has one of the best views of Berlin and the Spree river. This bridge is called Elsebrucke, and you can find it in Treptow, close to the Molecule Man. From there you will have the best angle to capture the Oberbaumbrücke with Berlin Mitte in the background with the TV Tower and all the rest. It’s beautiful.

The St Petersburg Metro is one of the most beautiful underground railway system we ever had the pleasure of visiting. The Radisson Blu Seaside is a beautiful and eco-friendly hotel in Helsinki. It’s located a little more than one kilometer from the city center, that can be reached by foot in less than 15 minutes. But, if you decide to visit Finland in the middle of the winter like we did, there is a a tram stop in front of the hotel making it even easier to see everything in Helsinki.
