When I first thought about going all the way to Neheimer Strasse, my goal was to see a giant blue starling mural and the controversial "bloody refugee” mural. If you were around Gendarmenmarkt a few days ago, you saw something quite spectacular. World-renowned chinese artist Ai Weiwei turned the columns of Konzerthaus Berlin into something different. Thousands of orange life vests covered the columns turning them into pillars for the refugees that are arriving every day in the greek island of Lesbos.
