The first Tommi’s Burger Joint was born in Reykjavík, Iceland, in 2004, created by Tómas Tómasson, aka Tommi. Tommi’s Burger in Mitte is a trendy burger. All their shops have the same look, wooden walls, posters, many signs and parts of the menu are handwritten, there are string lights in the ceiling, it is kind of a pub vibe with a twist.
As usual, your order on the counter and they call you when it’s done, our order was speedy, and the staff was super helpful.Felipe and I ordered the same, the Double Burger (€10,15), with two 150g patties, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. We added some cheese (+€0,8) and bacon (+€1,25) because we are monsters.
Oh well, this was simply phenomenal. The last time I went there, the bread was a lovely brioche; this time was a more balanced flavored one that makes room for the meat to shine more. The beef here was amazing, and we left offended that there are so few places that do such a good and pure patty. It was juicy, well seasoned, not overworked, and good quality, just perfect and straightforward. You pay extra for the cheese, but it was one of the only times it makes itself noticeable, and the extra bacon is also delicious. This is what every simple burger should taste like.We also got some Fries (€3) and some Sweet Potato Fries (€4,20) that were just standard fries, with an amazingly spicy homemade Chipotle Mayo (€1). Here you can also grab some other unique sauces, pickles, fried onions, and stuff to top your fries or burger for free. Felipe ordered a beer (€ 4), and I got a chocolate shake (€4,90) that was super thick, but a bit too sweet for me.
Overall, this is a delicious burger and lives up to the hype. We rate it a 9/10.
TOMMI’S BURGER JOINT IN MITTE
Invalidenstraße 160, 10115 Berlin
www.tommis.isThe Double Burger was €10,15, the Fries were €3,00, and the beer was €4,00.If you want a juicy meaty burger, this is for you. Tommi’s Burger in Mitte doesn’t have such a huge variety of burgers, because they don’t need it, they do the simple very well, and that’s it. We highly recommend this place.< !–- -–>< !–- -–>
